'After the successful installation of a new radar and VHF recording facility Ledwood Technology have provided Shoreham Port with a second to none after sales service. With a thorough and prompt reply to all questions asked of them, Ledwood quickly solved all teething problems using their remote access capability.
From word go Shoreham Port's ICT provider were especially impressed with the dialog and interaction with Ledwood Technology regarding the IP based radar recording computer system and the coordination required to ensure network compatibility.
I would like to thank the Ledwood Technology team for the effort on this project and look forward to working with them in the future.'

"As an overall view the system 'sees' more that we thought it would and is extremely useful in filling the gap in the upriver section of the river. The combination of radar, AIS and CCTV are most useful......I was watching (on the radar) a small rubber inflatable boat crossing the river under the legs of the Transporter the other day. This setup provides an essential management tool all for a reasonable cost."
Captain Jerry Drewitt, Harbour Master, Teesport
"The Redcar Coastwatch station was established in 1996 and the Humber coastguard and the MCA registered the station as a declared facility having the equipment and manning ability to be part of the SAR (Search and Rescue) organisation.
In July 2009 we replaced our ageing ship's radar with an Iris system from Ledwood Technology and its simplicity to use has amazed us. It is a very valuable asset to our operations. We are now able to communicate with all the coastal emergency services and can now pass on valuable information and assist in any offshore emergency; we are also able to direct local fishing boats if they are about to run into scars or shallow water areas. With the Iris AIS overlay we are able to help monitor large shipping venturing into restricted areas in support of the local port authority and can plot direction and report positions of any large or small vessels in positions of danger to Humber Coastguard and direct to the RNLI lifeboats. This system has enhanced our capability greatly. We would like to thank Ledwood Technologies for all there support and look forward to working with them in the future."
Trevor Smith, Deputy Controller, Redcar Coastwatch

Turning on-board computing into a reality, the new PC-based, commercial grade IRIS - Radar With Vision bridges the integration gap to enable fully assimilated, high quality marine electronics.
Until now integrated marine electronic systems have had one major omission, that of a high quality radar. As one of the first radars able to connect easily with other navigation and marine information equipment IRIS - Radar With Vision is breaking new ground and setting the standards for emerging technology.
IRIS - Radar With Vision provides better compensation for boat movement and delivers the highest quality of image, enabling the user to detect more targets at a longer range with greater clarity and precision.
On 12 September 2005, Mark Davies joined the Iris team as Marketing Director: "I am extremely proud to join such a great team and company with such tremendous potential. I believe that we have the right product at the right time. People in the industry have been waiting for a high quality PC-based radar that can successfully integrate with other PC-based systems for a long time, and we believe that IRIS not only achieves their requirements but surpasses them."
"IRIS' excellent picture quality, amazing accuracy and versatility has already put it in great demand. IRIS is also being used to ensure the safety of sea passengers and ship operators at Dover, the UK's busiest harbour, by effectively working as a speed trap."
